Poem: [The way to our homeland]

Indeed, it was small,
Yet a big deal for all.
We were filled with anger,
Against our British ruler.
It was a much-needed fight,
For our religious right.
War of independence was lost,
And that too at each other’s cost.

Our friends turned their backs,
Leaving us as discriminated lads.
Less jobs, Less money,
Became our sad destiny.
The king was sent to Rangoon,
Forcing him to die alone.
The office now spoke English,
The older one was out in a swish.
Then came a leader,
Who taught us to be a reader.
For that was the only way,
To help us have our say.
Voices of the ones in distress,
Were heard in the newly formed Congress.
But our voices were not loud,
Jinnah joined the crowd and made us proud.
Bengal was big,
But there was no grip.
So, they decided,
It needs to be divided.
Muslims were in favor,
And the Hindus felt in danger.
They led a mass movement,
To bring a big disappointment.
The decision was changed,
The relations were exchanged.
We finally accepted,
No matter what, will always be rejected.
So, we made the Indian Muslim league,
To let others, know what we speak.
Jinnah spoke about our rights,
In his famous fourteen points.
Iqbal proposed a plan,
To bring together the Muslim clan.
Jinnah resoluted a separate land,
For Muslims had to look grand.
Then came the day,
That showed us the way.
To our homeland,
Our beloved Pakistan.
